House Policy on “Minors and Checking IDs”
- Ask for proper ID from any customer who appears to be age 30 or younger.
- ID must be valid and contain the holder’s photograph
- Server should use ID checking guide to compare any out of state IDs.
- Server should document anytime a customer is refused service.
- The server directly responsible for serving any alcohol to the customer should ask for ID.
- Any server who is serving any alcohol is legally responsible for service of alcohol.
- Anyone responsible for checking IDs can ask management for backup at any time.
- Any employee who fails to stop service to a minor will be subject to immediate termination, may receive fines exceeding $1,000.00 from the LCE, and may be involved in a Civil Liability Lawsuit.
House Policy on “Visibly Intoxicated Patrons”
- Refuse the service of alcohol to any person who appears to be visibly intoxicated.
- Inform other servers that the patron has been flagged.
- Notify the Manager on Duty about the situation.
- Server should offer them an alternative beverage and food, offer to call a taxi or someone to come for them, and fill out an Incident Documentation Form.
- Any employee who recognizes a customer exhibiting signs of visible impairment is responsible for stopping service of alcohol to that patron.
- Service of alcohol should be stopped as soon as the first sign of visible impairment is recognized.
- Employees may seek assistance from another server, a sober patron, or the Manager on Duty.
- Any employee who fails to stop service to a minor will be subject to immediate termination, may receive fines exceeding $1,000.00 from the LCE, and may be involved in a Civil Liability Lawsuit.
House Policy for Events Etc.
- No alcohol may be brought in or taken out of Events Etc. This applies to wine purchased by the bottle. Clients who designate the number of bottles to be purchased for an event are responsible for payment for the amount they have requested. No unused or partially used bottles may be removed from the facility at the conclusion of the event.
- If you are using an offsite venue and providing alcohol for the event, any left over alcohol, open or closed, may not be removed at the conclusion of the event. A scheduled pickup time must be coordinated with the events coordinator for pickup the next business day.
- Every server/bartender has the right to refuse service to any patron at events held offsite or at our facility.
- Events Etc. reserves the right to stop bar service at any event if management feels that actions by guests or the client are in violation of the House Policy or LCB regulations.
House Policy on “Service of Alcohol” for Off-site Events
- See “House Policy on Minors and Checking IDs”; policy pertains to any off-site event.
- See “House Policy on Visibly Intoxicated Patrons”; policy pertains to any off-site event.
- All alcohol on the premises must be in possession of and served by bartender/server.**
- Events Etc. may not purchase for or transport any alcohol to an off-site facility.
**Exclusion: In the event that Events Etc. is not responsible for serving alcohol (i.e. our bar services were not purchased), at no time should any employee handle any alcoholic beverage.
